Osun Decides: 3,556 polling units opened by 8:30 am – INEC


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that 3,556 out of 3,763 polling units in Osun State had opened by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday for the gubernatorial election.

This information was shared in an election situation report posted on INEC’s official account on X. According to the commission, 207 polling units, accounting for 5.5 percent, experienced minor delays but were operational by 9:00 a.m.

“3,556 of 3,763 Polling Units (94.5%) had opened,” INEC stated in its report.

Additionally, INEC announced that all 332 Registration Area Centers (RACs) in the state were fully activated by 6:09 p.m. on Friday, ahead of the election.

In its overall assessment, INEC characterized the processes of RAC activation and polling unit openings as having been conducted “in a peaceful, orderly, and timely manner.”
