2027 Presidency: Tinubu will lose by 4 p.m. on election day – Hakeem Baba-Ahmed

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), stated that if the 2027 presidential election is conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner, President Bola Tinubu could face defeat by the afternoon of election day.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the disconnect between Tinubu’s administration and the realities faced by many Nigerians, particularly in the northern regions of the country. He remarked on the prevailing poverty rates and the lack of industrial development, including in the agricultural sector.

Baba-Ahmed questioned the accuracy of the statistics and data presented by the government, suggesting that true conditions should be measured through direct observations of people’s lives rather than figures alone.

“If it’s a credible, free, and fair election, Tinubu will lose maybe before 4 p.m.,” he said.

He also criticized Tinubu for publically defending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), arguing that it is inappropriate for a presidential candidate to promote the electoral body when they are a participant in the election process. “Nobody should praise INEC for conducting an election in which the president is a contestant; it’s wrong and unbecoming,” he stated.

Baba-Ahmed urged a more genuine approach to governance and electoral integrity as the country approaches the next election cycle.
