Police arrest suspected female gunrunner in Delta
The Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU) in Delta State has apprehended a 28-year-old woman, identified as Happiness Clifford, on suspicion of gunrunning. The arrest took place in Agbor, located in the Ika South Local Government Area, according to reports from DAILY POST.
Authorities recovered 10 live cartridges concealed in a bucket during a search of Clifford’s residence. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the details in a statement provided to a DAILY POST correspondent in Warri.
Edafe indicated that the arrest followed credible intelligence. He stated, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Ubulu-Uku, arrested one Happiness Clifford, female, aged 28 years, in connection with suspected gun-running activities in Agbor, Ika South LGA.”
Further investigation revealed that Clifford identified her husband, Clifford Okoro, as a primary supplier of the ammunition. “Investigation is ongoing, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend him,” Edafe added.
