NDLEA dismantles drug black spots in Ogun, arrests 12 suspects
The Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 12 individuals in connection with an ongoing enforcement operation called “Operation Restore Order.” This initiative aims to dismantle drug black spots across the country.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, rtd, who serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, launched the operation as part of a nationwide effort to combat drug-related activities.
In Ogun State, this operation involved coordinated raids targeting known drug hotspots in Abeokuta, including locations such as Mayas, Maiami, Panseke, Onion Market, Eleweran, MKO Stadium Kuto Park, and WAPCO in Lafenwa.
According to Haris Musa, the command’s Public Relations Officer, those arrested included one woman and eleven men. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to its mandate of protecting communities while preventing the proliferation of illegal drug activities within Ogun State.
Musa stated, “The coordinated operations are aimed at disrupting illicit drug activities, dismantling drug networks, and reclaiming public spaces being used for drug trafficking and abuse.”
