Tinubu has outperformed every elected president in Nigeria — Felix Morka

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated on Monday that President Bola Tinubu has achieved a higher level of performance during his first term than any prior democratically elected president in Nigeria. Morka’s comments were made during an interview on Channels Television, where he defended the administration’s economic policies.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outperformed any president in his first term,” Morka asserted. He claimed that the evidence of Tinubu’s performance is visible in Nigeria’s current economic situation.

When pressed for specific indicators to support his assertion, Morka remarked that the situation speaks for itself, saying, “The indicators are res ipsa loquitur; they speak for themselves.” He described the economy inherited by Tinubu as “completely in a mess,” attributing this condition to what he characterized as failures of previous administrations.

Morka specifically criticized the 16-year tenure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which preceded the APC’s rise to power in 2015. He referred to former President Muhammadu Buhari as a “stopgap president” who managed to stabilize the country after years of what he termed “horrific maladministration” by the PDP.

“Buhari served his term, did his job to hold the country still for President Tinubu to enter,” Morka stated.

He further emphasized that Tinubu’s policies have helped Nigeria recover from significant economic challenges, claiming that the administration has made noticeable progress on a macroeconomic level. According to Morka, even critics of the government are beginning to recognize the positive effects of the reforms implemented by the Tinubu administration.

Morka concluded by declaring that the country has “come out of the woods” in terms of economic conditions, attributing this turnaround to the policies of the current government.
