Okrika, Nigeria — Hon. Desmond Stephen, a prominent philanthropist and grassroots politician, has officially departed from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to join the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
Stephen submitted his resignation on May 25, 2026, expressing appreciation for the experiences and opportunities he gained while with the NDC. In his resignation letter, he emphasized that his decision was made after thorough consideration, aimed at enhancing his commitment to serve the people of Okrika with renewed vigor and a clear sense of purpose.
Following his shift to the ADP, Stephen has been named the party’s candidate for the Okrika Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
