The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has disclosed the provisional locations, venues, and dates for its upcoming passport intervention exercise in the United Kingdom. This initiative aims to address outstanding passport applications and enhance service delivery for Nigerians living abroad.
The announcement follows the recent deployment of a dedicated Passport Intervention Team from the NIS headquarters in Abuja, which was directed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. This team was initially deployed on August 9, 2026, to assist with the backlog of passport applications.
In a public announcement made on Monday and signed by Akinsola Akinlabi, the NIS Public Relations Officer, details of the planned exercise were outlined.
According to the statement, the NIS determined the locations and venues for the intervention exercise after consultations with the High Commission of Nigeria and representatives from Nigerian communities in the UK.
The statement read, “Sequel to the earlier announcement on the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja, to the United Kingdom, on the directive of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Service hereby informs the public that:
“Following due consultation with the High Commission of Nigeria and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK, the provisional locations, venues, and dates for the intervention exercise are as indicated below.”
