Retirement: Mourinho sends message to Messi

Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has extended a message to Lionel Messi following the Argentina captain’s announcement of his retirement from international football.

Messi confirmed his decision in a statement posted on Instagram on Monday. “After all this time since the final match, and after much thought, I want to announce to everyone that I have decided to retire from playing with the national team,” he wrote.

In response to Messi’s announcement, Mourinho commented on the post, offering his congratulations. “Congratulations on a wonderful and unforgettable international career,” he wrote. He added, “The next Copa América and the next World Cup will not be the same in your absence as they were before.”
