Super Eagles Head Coach Appoints New Assistant Coaches for U-23 Team
ABUJA, Nigeria — Eric Chelle, head coach of the Super Eagles, has announced the appointment of Bright Osehai Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as assistant coaches for the U-23 national team.
Osehai Ozebagbe currently serves as the technical adviser for Ikorodu City, while Ortega is recognized as one of the top young coaches in Nigeria. An accomplished UEFA-licensed coach trained by the Scottish Football Association, Ortega also holds a position as one of the assistant coaches for the Flying Eagles.
The U-23 Eagles are set to convene in Abuja in the near future to prepare for their qualifying matches for the 2028 Olympic Games, which will take place in Los Angeles, California.
Nigeria’s U-23 team last qualified for the Olympic football event in 2016. In the upcoming qualifiers, the Olympic Eagles are scheduled to face either Mauritania or the Democratic Republic of Congo in a second-round match this November.
