Ekiti 2027: APC, ADC, 10 other parties set for battle over 26 Assembly seats

Ekiti State Political Parties Nominate 174 Candidates for 2027 Assembly Elections

A coalition of political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has announced the nomination of 174 candidates for the 26 seats in the Ekiti State House of Assembly for the upcoming 2027 general election.
The information was released in a document from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), signed by Sina Ogundana, the commission’s Legal Officer I for Ekiti State.
According to the document, the APC, ADC, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP) have each nominated candidates for all 26 constituencies.
Additionally, the Action Peoples Movement (APM) has put forward 19 candidates, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated eight candidates. The Labour Party (LP) is contesting five seats.
Other parties participating in the election include the Action Alliance (AA) with four candidates, Action Democratic Party (ADP) with three, Young Progressives Party (YPP) with three, and Accord, which has fielded two candidates.
This election cycle is expected to see intense competition among the various parties as they vie for control of the state assembly.
