Police arrest two over alleged burglary, recover laptops, phones in Osun
The Osun State Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with an alleged burglary and theft. Authorities also recovered multiple items believed to have been taken during the incident.
In a statement released on Sunday by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura, and signed by Command spokesperson DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the suspects were identified as Eyelade Anuoluwa, 27, and Abdullah Musa, 28.
According to the police, Anuoluwa reportedly broke into the home of a complainant on July 26, 2026, stealing valuables estimated to be worth approximately ₦3 million. The items taken included an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks, and recharge cards.
The arrest of Anuoluwa was made possible through intelligence gathered by police operatives, leading to his apprehension in Ibadan, Oyo State, by personnel from the Ilesa Area Command. After his arrest, he was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries, where he allegedly confessed to the crime.
During subsequent questioning, authorities discovered that some of the stolen items had reportedly been transferred to a receiver in Ibadan. A police operation targeting this receiving channel resulted in Musa’s arrest.
Musa is accused of having accepted some of the stolen goods and is now under investigation for potential involvement in a wider syndicate dealing in stolen property. He purportedly acknowledged purchasing the iPhone 12 from Anuoluwa for ₦25,000.
Items seized from the suspects include an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, a Samsung phone, a mini DP charger, two power banks, a 16GB Apple iPad, and another phone categorized as scrap.
Commissioner Zungura praised the investigative efforts of his team. The police indicated that investigations are ongoing to identify additional individuals linked to the crime and to recover more stolen property. The suspects are expected to be formally charged in court once the investigation concludes.
