Thugs reportedly attack Sowore in Ekiti
Suspected political assailants targeted Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Sowore reported the incident in a brief statement on his official Facebook page on Friday, indicating that the attack occurred inside a restaurant.
“Thugs just attacked us inside a restaurant in Ado Ekiti,” Sowore wrote.
Efforts by DAILY POST to confirm details of the incident with the Ekiti State Police Command were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
In response to rising political tensions, law enforcement agencies have issued warnings to political figures against engaging in violence in the lead-up to the elections.
