No rival has 10% of Tinubu’s qualities – Yari

GUSAU, Nigeria — Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, asserted Wednesday that no presidential candidate challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election can rival his qualifications or competence.
Speaking in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, during a gathering with members of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Yari emphasized the need for support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Yari, who has held the campaign council’s leadership since August 22, expressed the intention for their campaign to extend beyond the election itself, focusing on engaging Nigerians about the nation’s future.
“In the realm of politics, when you compare all the aspirants contesting against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the difference is clear,” Yari said in Hausa. “None of the other candidates match his level of merit and quality. We believe they do not even come close to 10 percent of what Bola Tinubu possesses.”
While acknowledging the legitimacy of other candidates’ right to run, Yari affirmed the APC’s commitment to ensuring Tinubu’s victory in 2027. “It is important to contest and campaign. With God’s grace, we will work hard, and we are hopeful for success,” he stated.
Yari also called on APC supporters to pray for both Tinubu and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal in their respective electoral pursuits. “May God allow them to continue the good work they have started for the people,” he said.
President Tinubu is seeking re-election in 2027, facing notable opposition from figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
