Husband Expresses Shock After Wife’s Arrest for Child Exploitation
Ikechukwu Onyeanyusi, the husband of Anulika Nwokike, has publicly addressed the arrest of his wife, who is accused of using their children to produce pornographic content for social media. Onyeanyusi expressed his shock and dismay during a video statement that circulated online.
Onyeanyusi stated he was unaware of his wife’s alleged actions, as he leaves the house daily for work. Nwokike was apprehended on Thursday after concerned community members reported that she was exploiting her three daughters and son in abusive content, which included the use of sex toys.
In the video, Onyeanyusi recounted his first knowledge of the situation. “I was not aware of the video until a friend showed it to me in the market. I rushed home and confronted my wife, but she denied it, claiming they were AI videos,” he said.
He continued, “As I was pushing further, police arrived and arrested all of us, including me. It was at the police station, while she was being interrogated in the DPO’s office, that I was informed she had confessed.”
Onyeanyusi emphasized the distress this situation has caused, expressing his sorrow that his wife could engage in such actions against their children. He called upon the public and relevant organizations to show compassion and support for his children as they begin their recovery.
The case has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many condemning the alleged actions.
In response, the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare is collaborating with law enforcement to ensure that the affected children receive necessary psychological support and protective services.
The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, praised community members who provided information leading to the intervention. She reaffirmed the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse and exploitation.
