2027: Tinubu, Atiku, Obi lack capacity to move Nigeria forward – Adebayo campaign

The Presidential Campaign Council of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi lack the capability to advance Nigeria if elected in the 2027 presidential elections.

At a press conference held in Abuja on Saturday, Chief Communications Adviser Comrade Mark Adebayo emphasized the importance of active participation in the upcoming election and the need for citizens to protect their votes.

Adebayo expressed confidence in the SDP’s presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, whom he described as well-prepared to lead the nation. He characterized Adebayo as intellectually capable and supported by a comprehensive plan to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

According to Adebayo, Adebayo represents a genuine alternative to what he termed “establishment politicians,” whom he criticized for treating public office as a means for personal gain. He stated that major political parties in Nigeria have failed to meet the needs of citizens, describing them as “two sides of the same coin.”

Adebayo also claimed that the policy approaches of his party’s candidate are superior to those of Abubakar and Obi, particularly regarding economic management, labor, production, and governance. He criticized the records of both former governors, arguing that Adebayo offers a more consistent and pragmatic solution to the country’s issues.

Regarding President Tinubu, Adebayo stated there was “absolutely no basis for comparison” between him and the SDP candidate. He accused Tinubu’s administration of exacerbating issues such as poverty, hunger, and insecurity.

Adebayo urged voters to cast their ballots decisively and safeguard the electoral process, asserting that these actions are vital for ensuring trustworthy leadership. “President Tinubu knows, as do all Nigerians, that in a free, fair, and credible election, he will lose in a landslide in 2027,” he said.

He highlighted Adebayo’s distinctive policy document, titled Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity, which he described as a detailed strategy for addressing economic challenges, infrastructure deficits, and insecurity within four years. Adebayo called on Nigerians to view his candidate as a credible “third force” in the lead-up to the 2027 presidential election.
