OK Movement Establishes 59-Member Presidential Campaign Council Ahead of 2027 Elections

ABUJA — The OK Movement, a political organization formed to support the joint ticket of Peter Obi and Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso for the Nigeria Democratic Congress in the 2027 presidential elections, has announced the creation of a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council. This council includes zonal and state coordinators tasked with mobilizing support across the nation.
The organization has also appointed directors for various key divisions, including mobilization, women affairs, strategy, security, and legal affairs, as part of its preparations for the upcoming elections.
In a statement released on Monday, Saadatu Sani, the National Secretary of the OK Movement, outlined the council’s objectives, emphasizing that it will work to deliver the group’s message throughout the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
John Ughulu has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign council, while Saadatu Sani will serve as the National Secretary. The council’s structure features six zonal coordinators: Suleiman Abubakar for North Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for North West, Amadu Gwambe for North East, Dr. Adebayo Adefolaseye for South West, Christopher Ighodaro for South South, and El-Shaddai Ikeh for South East.
Additional appointments include Ibrahim Jabir as the FCT Coordinator, alongside warden coordinators for Kogi, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Niger, and Kwara. New coordinators have also been designated for various northern states: Kaduna, Sokoto, Kano, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Katsina, as well as for Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba, Bauchi, Yobe, and Borno in the North East.
The South West and South South regions will have coordinators for Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers. In the South East, coordinators have been named for Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Abia.
The statement also announced leadership roles for various areas including grassroots mobilization, contact and engagement, special duties, procurement, information technology, and administration. The council members are encouraged to work collaboratively while upholding discipline, humility, and commitment.
“Our campaign strategy will necessitate strong communication, effective grassroots engagement, and tight coordination throughout the country,” Sani stated.
Sani’s closing remarks congratulated the selected members and highlighted the importance of their roles. “Your selection is not merely an appointment; it is a call to duty, sacrifice, leadership, and service to Nigeria,” she said.
Sani reiterated the movement’s vision of mobilizing Nigerians for a better and more unified country, stressing the need for diligence and teamwork among council members.
“We expect every member of the Presidential Campaign Council to approach this assignment with discipline and loyalty,” she added. “The road ahead will require hard work, strategic thinking, and a commitment to the vision of the movement.”
The OK Movement concluded their announcement with a rallying message, stating, “A New Nigeria Is Possible. Nigeria Will Be OK.”
