David Alaba has agreed to terms with Udinese to join the Italian club as a free agent. The Austrian defender parted ways with Real Madrid this summer after his contract expired.
The announcement of Alaba’s verbal agreement with Udinese was made by football transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano on his social media platform, X. Romano described the transfer as a significant signing for the club and noted that formal procedures remain to complete the move.
Alaba, who has Nigerian heritage, is expected to join fellow teammate Maduka Okoye at Udinese. Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, signed a four-year contract with the club in August 2023.
