Wizkid Responds to 2Baba’s Comments on Burna Boy’s Status
Nigerian Afrobeat artist Wizkid has publicly criticized his senior colleague, 2Baba, for ranking Burna Boy ahead of him in terms of global prominence.
In a recent interview with Seun Okinbaloye, 2Baba discussed the ongoing debate about the so-called “Big 3”—a term that refers to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, who are recognized as Nigeria’s leading musical exports. During the conversation, he named Burna Boy as the top Nigerian artist on the global stage.
Wizkid’s reaction came in a Snapchat post where he referred to 2Baba as an “old man” and suggested that he focus on personal matters before commenting on the music scene. “At least make peace with your family first before having opinions about music. Old man,” Wizkid stated, adding, “I’m never letting it slack in 2026.”
Previously, Wizkid had declared himself the country’s number one Afrobeat star amid discussions surrounding the ranking of the three artists.
