Ballon d’Or 2026: It’s clear – Ukraine’s Andriy Lunin names player to win award
Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has endorsed Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappé as the frontrunner for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Lunin, speaking in a recent interview, expressed his belief that the French captain is the standout player deserving of the prestigious award.
“Ballon d’Or? For me, it’s clear, Kylian Mbappé is the best,” Lunin was quoted as saying on El Chiringuito TV, as reported by Madrid Xtra.
Mbappé, who recently claimed the Golden Boot for finishing as the top scorer at the 2026 World Cup, will face stiff competition from other contenders, including Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona and Harry Kane of Bayern Munich.
