Younger men now rushing older women – Damilola Adegbite claims

Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has observed a shift in the Nigerian dating landscape, noting that younger men are increasingly drawn to older women.

In a recent episode of her podcast, shared on her YouTube channel, Adegbite discussed how societal expectations have historically pressured women to exit the dating scene after reaching a certain age. She emphasized that this trend is evolving, with younger men now expressing interest in older partners.

The 41-year-old actress referenced the biblical metaphor of the “rejected stone” becoming the “chief cornerstone,” suggesting that older women, once overlooked, are now viewed as valuable partners.

“When society dictated that older women should fade from the dating market, it seemed like younger individuals received all the attention. However, the situation is changing,” she remarked during the podcast.

Adegbite elaborated, “I believe there is truth in Psalm 118:22, which speaks of the stone rejected by the builders becoming the cornerstone. Today, the older woman who was once disregarded is now seen as a desirable option.”

She also highlighted the confidence displayed by younger men in pursuing older women. “A man in his twenties or thirties will approach a woman aged 38, 40, or 42 and confidently express his interest, leaving her surprised yet intrigued,” she said. “This kind of assurance is appealing.”
