Russia send warning to Super Eagles with 6-0 win 


Russia defeated Namibia 6-0 in an international friendly match on Saturday, preparing for their upcoming game against Nigeria on Tuesday.

The match, held in Yekaterinburg, saw a slow start, with Russia managing only one goal in the first half. Lechi Sadulaev found the net in the 37th minute to give the home team the lead.

In the second half, Russia intensified their offensive efforts. Danil Prutsev scored the second goal just nine minutes after the break, followed by Konstantin Tyukavin, who added another to the tally 11 minutes later.

Maksim Glushenkov extended the lead in the 84th minute, and three minutes later, Maksim Petrov converted a penalty kick. The match concluded with Namibia’s Kamaijanda Ndisiro inadvertently scoring an own goal during stoppage time, finalizing the score at 6-0.

Russia will face Nigeria next at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. The two teams last met in June 2025, resulting in a 1-1 draw after Tolu Arokodare equalized following an own goal by Semi Ajayi.
