Golden Eaglets Coach Confident Ahead of WAFU B U-17 Championship Opener
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso — Golden Eaglets coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere expressed strong confidence in his team’s prospects as they prepare to face Niger Republic in their opening match of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship. The match is set to take place at Stade du 4 Aout on Tuesday.
Niger Republic comes into the match following a 1-1 draw against Côte d’Ivoire in their initial fixture. A victory for the Golden Eaglets would position them at the top of Group B and enhance their chances of advancing to the semi-finals.
“We are very, very confident because we’re Nigeria,” Uwejamomere stated. However, he emphasized the importance of respecting their opponents, acknowledging that Niger is likely to present a challenging contest.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
