Tems sets new record for longest-charting solo African song on Billboard Hot 100

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has achieved a milestone by recording the longest solo song by an African artist on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
Her popular track “What You Need” continues to perform well, securing its position on the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of 30 weeks. This achievement places it in a tie with South African pop artist Tyla’s “Water” and Afrobeats musician CKay’s “Love Nwantiti,” both of which charted for 29 weeks.
