2027: Adeleke backs Tinubu; maintains support for Accord legislative candidates

By Ayobami Okerinde
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced his commitment to garner over 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in January 2027. He emphasized that his support for candidates from the Accord Party in upcoming legislative elections remains unchanged.
Adeleke revealed this information in a post on X on Friday, following the inauguration of the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council dedicated to Tinubu’s re-election bid. He noted that a coalition comprising the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is collaborating specifically to secure Tinubu’s second term.
“Our rainbow coalition of Accord, APC, and PDP is united solely for President Tinubu’s re-election in the January 2027 presidential election. This partnership does not extend to the legislative elections,” he stated.
In addition, Governor Adeleke addressed the ongoing local government crisis in Osun, reporting that negotiations are progressing well. He indicated that he has received assurances from the federal government regarding the matter.
“On the Osun local government crisis, negotiations are at an advanced stage. I have received the assurance of the Federal Government, and there will be positive developments soon,” he added.
Adeleke called on residents to come together regardless of political affiliations, stressing the importance of collective effort in achieving a prosperous future for the state. “From the pain of the past, we must unite for the prosperity of the future. Together, let us mobilize and deliver Osun for President Tinubu,” he urged.
