Former Yobe State Commissioner Alhaji Musa Dumburi Passes Away at 70

Alhaji Musa Dumburi, a former Commissioner for Agriculture and Environment in Yobe State, has passed away at the age of 70. His death was confirmed by Senator Musa Mustapha, who represents Yobe East, in a statement posted on Facebook Saturday.

Senator Mustapha expressed sorrow at the news, describing Dumburi as “a brilliant agriculturist” and “a hardworking, dependable, and highly resourceful technocrat.” He emphasized Dumburi’s lifelong commitment to advancing Yobe State, particularly in the agricultural sector.

“Even at the age of 70, late Alhaji Musa Dumburi exuded an unparalleled passion for the progress of Yobe State, particularly in agriculture,” Mustapha stated. He noted Dumburi’s significant contributions to farming activities in the region.

The senator extended his condolences to Dumburi’s family, friends, and political associates, offering prayers for mercy upon his soul.

Born on April 26, 1956, in Dumburi town, Yobe State, Dumburi displayed leadership and talent from an early age. He attended Masaba Primary School in Bursari Local Government from 1963 to 1970 and subsequently enrolled at Barewa College in Zaria from 1971 to 1975.

Dumburi began his political career in 2003, when he was appointed as Special Assistant on Rural Development by former Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim.
