LaLiga: Ronaldo Nazário reacts to Real Madrid’s El Clásico win over Barça at Camp Nou

Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazário praised Real Madrid following their 2-1 victory over Barcelona in La Liga over the weekend. The match, widely regarded as one of the most significant encounters in Spanish football, took place at Camp Nou.
Ronaldo provided his insights at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on Monday, one day after his former club secured the win in the tenth round of league play. “It was exceptionally beautiful, exceptionally remarkable,” he remarked about Real Madrid’s performance.
The match saw Kylian Mbappé open the scoring in the 41st minute, taking advantage of a deflected clearance from Gerard Martín. Barcelona equalized in the 61st minute through Raphinha, but Mbappé struck again in the 87th minute, converting a pass from Eduardo Camavinga to seal the victory for Real Madrid.
Barcelona had entered the match with an unbeaten record across their first nine league fixtures, and a victory would have extended their lead over Real Madrid to nine points. The defeat marked the first for Hansi Flick’s squad this season in La Liga, while Real Madrid narrowed the gap, now sitting in third place with 24 points, just one point behind Atlético Madrid.
This match also marked the first El Clásico during José Mourinho’s second term as Real Madrid’s head coach, and he has now maintained an undefeated record against Barcelona in six consecutive encounters.
Ronaldo, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner who has played for both clubs, attended the event alongside other notable former players. In comments posted by MadridXtra on X, he acknowledged the difficulty of winning at Barcelona’s home ground, stating, “Real Madrid played very well, they defended very well. Mourinho is shaping the team to his liking.”
