Mercy Aigbe slams bloggers over Toluwanisings’ family dispute

Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has criticized bloggers for conducting interviews with relatives of the late gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, amid ongoing disputes regarding his burial arrangements.

Aigbe denounced the interviews, suggesting that such actions exacerbate tensions between the singer’s widow and his family instead of allowing them to grieve privately. In a post on her Instagram account, she expressed her concerns about the apparent lack of compassion in the situation.

“Have we lost our sense of humanity? What happened to compassion?” Aigbe asked.

She emphasized that the singer’s death has left behind a grieving wife and two young children who require support and privacy during this challenging time. Aigbe pointed out that turning family disagreements into online content only deepens their distress.

“Must everything become content? Must every family disagreement become public entertainment?” she questioned.

Aigbe urged bloggers and media figures to reflect on the emotional toll that their coverage may have on the grieving family. “Whatever disagreements exist, can we allow this family some dignity and privacy to navigate their grief?” she added.

She further highlighted that not every circumstance requires public attention and called for restraint among those reporting on personal matters. “Not every situation needs a microphone. Not every conflict needs an audience. And not every tragedy should become an opportunity for engagement. Sometimes, the most humane thing you can do is put the camera down,” Aigbe remarked.

According to DAILY POST, Toluwanisings passed away on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing in Ibadan, Oyo State. His death has sparked public debate, with family members calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it.
