South-South Stands Up for Tinubu as RELAX DG Ahmed Bala Leads Grassroots Mobilization Ahead of 2027

The South-South geopolitical zone has emerged as a key area for political mobilization, led by Hon. Ahmed Bala, the Director-General of Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN). During a recent zonal town hall engagement, the organization expressed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its development agenda.

This mobilization effort aims to bring the “Renewed Hope” conversation to local communities, focusing on crucial topics such as economic reforms, national development, political inclusion, and the expectations of citizens in advance of the 2027 general elections.

Bala emphasized RELAX’s commitment to enhancing political awareness and expanding its influence across the six states in the South-South region. The organization has stressed the importance of understanding the structural challenges facing the Nigerian economy and the policy measures being implemented to address them.

Among the significant reforms introduced under President Tinubu’s leadership are revisions to the petroleum subsidy system, foreign exchange management, and public finance. While these initiatives have sparked debate regarding their immediate effects on household incomes and business expenditures, supporters contend that they are essential to rectifying long-standing economic distortions and fostering sustainable growth.

Economic transformation discussions are particularly pertinent in the South-South, given the region’s pivotal role in petroleum production, gas development, maritime commerce, and industrial activities. The town hall meeting also aimed to highlight issues such as youth employment, entrepreneurship, infrastructure development, and the necessity for policies that align with community aspirations.

RELAX operates as a sister organization to the City Boy Movement, founded by Barr. Seyi Tinubu. Under Hon. Ahmed Bala’s leadership, RELAX has prioritized grassroots sensitization and political participation in its initiatives. This mobilization effort is part of a larger strategy to promote political engagement outside of election seasons and encourage informed dialogue regarding government policies.

As the nation approaches the 2027 general elections, RELAX is leveraging this engagement to reinforce its backing for President Tinubu’s re-election, advocating that continuity in economic reforms is vital for Nigeria’s progress. The town hall series underscores the increasing significance of regional forums as venues for political conversation, policy communication, and the interaction between advocacy groups and the public.
