Governor Agbu Kefas Delivers Sermon at Supernatural Love Ministries Conference in Yola
YOLA, Adamawa State — During a recent conference hosted by Supernatural Love Ministries, Governor Agbu Kefas delivered a sermon focusing on service to humanity. Speaking as a guest minister, Kefas emphasized the importance of selflessness and serving others.
“We come from God and we are on earth to add value,” Kefas stated, recalling his commitment to selflessness that began when he dedicated his life to Jesus at the age of 14. As a governor, he described his role as that of a servant to God and the people.
Kefas centered his sermon on the theme “Celebrating the Kingdom of God through Service to Humanity,” drawing on biblical verses from Mark 10:45 and Matthew 25:40. He urged attendees to transition from mere ceremonies to practical acts of Christianity, advocating for compassion and selfless service.
Reflecting on his personal journey, the governor shared that he has always sought opportunities to support himself and his community. In his youth, he worked as a night guard at a hospital and sold newspapers to avoid dependency on others.
Kefas acknowledged the challenges of public office, revealing that being governor is often accompanied by criticism and sleepless nights. “Do you know the insults that are heaped on me, even from children?” he asked, noting the unwelcome attention he receives on social media. He stressed that he chose to serve in this capacity willingly and understands the sacrifices involved.
“Since I became governor on May 29, 2023, the longest I have slept is two to three hours a day,” he remarked. “There is little else to it other than sacrifice. If you know why you are in office and wish to fulfill your purpose, that is what matters.”
Kefas dismissed the notion that the glamour of office is important. “I derive no joy in being shielded from people,” he said. “What makes my day is being waved at by ordinary people on the street who appreciate what I am doing for them.”
The International Kingdom Conference conducted by Supernatural Love Ministries concluded on Sunday. The conference was presided over by Archbishop Calvin Antonza, the Spiritual Head of the church group.
