Police burst criminal syndicate in Yobe

Yobe State Police Arrest Four Suspects in Fraud and Abduction Case
DAMATURU, Nigeria — The Yobe State Police Command has dismantled a criminal syndicate involved in fraud, impersonation, and the abduction of individuals, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.
Public Relations Officer SP Dungus Abdulkarim issued a statement detailing the operation that led to the arrests. Authorities apprehended four individuals believed to be members of the gang and rescued a kidnapping victim in a targeted operation.
The police report indicates that the victim was taken in Damaturu, where the suspects allegedly masqueraded as security officials. They purportedly accused the victim of corruption and financial misconduct to facilitate unlawful detention, intimidation, and extortion. The suspects then transported the victim toward Potiskum in a rented vehicle.
All four suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crimes and are currently in police custody. Investigations are ongoing as authorities prepare for further legal action.
