Real Madrid is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to acquire Aimar Garcia, an 18-year-old center-back from Atlético Madrid’s youth system.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced the development on X Wednesday, stating that a verbal agreement has been reached between the two clubs.

Garcia is set to be out of contract in June, prompting Real Madrid to act as they aim to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Currently, Madrid sits atop the La Liga standings, ahead of second-placed Barcelona. The team secured a victory over Benfica, winning 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 playoff on Tuesday.
