Improvised Explosive Device Detonates on Gusau–Funtua Highway
An improvised explosive device (IED), believed to have been planted by bandits, detonated early Wednesday along the Gusau–Funtua highway.
Security analyst Bakastine confirmed the explosion occurred between Kuceri and Magazu villages in the Tsafe Local Government Area. A commercial trailer loaded with cement reportedly triggered the device, resulting in widespread panic among those in the vicinity.
In response to the incident, residents and community leaders have urged security agencies to enhance patrol measures, surveillance, and intelligence gathering along this heavily trafficked route to avert future attacks.
