Plateau Police Conduct Raid, Arrest 27 Suspects
The Plateau State Police Command carried out an intelligence-led operation over the weekend, resulting in the arrest of 27 individuals across various locations in the state.
The operation was conducted to restore order and prevent criminal activities amid ongoing challenges in the area. Commissioner of Police Bassey Ewah emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining peace, warning against any attempts to incite unrest.
“The Plateau Police Chief has deployed both operational and intelligence assets to ensure that law and order are upheld, providing the public with a safe and secure environment,” said State Police Public Relations Officer SP Alfred Alabo.
During the operation, police recovered dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp from the arrested suspects. Profiling and further investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to bring all perpetrators to justice.
Ewah urged the public to collaborate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities. “If you see something, say something,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of community involvement in enhancing safety.
