Suspected members of the Lakurawa armed group have reportedly attacked the Dadin-Kowa community in the Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries among residents during Taraweeh prayers.

The attack occurred Wednesday night, targeting worshippers inside a mosque, according to a post made on Thursday by security analyst and crisis journalist Bakatsine on social media platform X. Witnesses indicated that the assailants desecrated the mosque during the incident.

Bakatsine emphasized the gravity of this attack, noting it serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing insecurity affecting various regions in northern Nigeria. He highlighted the timing of the assault, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan.
