Police nab six ‘pastors’ over fake miracles in Ondo

Six Arrested for Alleged Miracle Scam in Ondo State
Operatives from the Ondo State Police Command have detained six individuals accused of posing as pastors to defraud unsuspecting members of the community through fake miracles.
The suspects—identified as Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola, and Ademola—were arrested in Idanre, the seat of the Idanre Local Council Area, where they are believed to have conducted their deceptive practices.
Police Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh stated that the arrests were made following a coordinated operation involving tactical teams and Community Safety Officers. The effort was described as intelligence-driven.
According to Jimoh, the suspects exploited the faith and vulnerabilities of their victims, promising them miraculous solutions to various personal and financial challenges.
“It was gathered that the suspects operated in a coordinated manner, assigning specific roles to create a credible facade of legitimacy,” Jimoh said.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the total number of victims, the financial scale of the alleged fraud, and to identify any additional accomplices who may still be at large.
