Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital Responds to Suspension of Doctors

Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital has released a statement addressing the interim suspension of thirteen doctors, including two of its clinical staff, by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel (MDPIP). This action is related to ongoing investigations concerning the death of Master Nkanu Nnamdi Esege.

In its statement, Euracare affirmed its commitment to cooperating fully with all relevant regulatory and judicial authorities involved in the case. The hospital expressed confidence in the professionalism and integrity of the suspended doctors, Dr. Tosin Majekodunmi and Dr. Titus Ogundare, describing them as experienced practitioners with significant contributions to Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

Euracare also highlighted its adherence to high standards of medical care and the importance of transparency in its operations. The hospital conducted a comprehensive internal review of the clinical events surrounding the case in alignment with best practice protocols. It reassured stakeholders of its commitment to openness and willingness to engage with inquiries.

However, the hospital raised concerns regarding the handling of the ongoing proceedings, noting potential lapses in established processes. It expressed dismay at the disclosure of matters covered by patient confidentiality through inappropriate channels, labeling it a serious breach.

Euracare emphasized its dedication to fairness, equality, and good governance, asserting that all parties involved, including its staff and institution, deserve a process marked by rigor and impartiality. The hospital stated its intent to pursue these concerns through appropriate legal and regulatory avenues.

In addition, Euracare extended its condolences to the family of Master Nkanu Nnamdi Esege, acknowledging the profound loss of a child and affirming that this awareness guides its approach to the matter.
