Terrorists deserve death not forgiveness – Adeyanju to Nigerian Govt

Activist Calls for Stricter Anti-Terrorism Measures in Nigeria

Deji Adeyanju, a legal activist, has stated that individuals involved in terrorism and their supporters should face the death penalty rather than be forgiven. He made these remarks in a recent post on social media, urging the Nigerian government to adopt tougher measures against terrorism.

Adeyanju criticized what he perceives as the government’s lenient approach towards terrorists, arguing that such policies could hinder efforts to enhance security in the country. He stressed the need for a decisive and uncompromising stance to effectively combat violent extremism and safeguard citizens.

“The Nigerian government must stop forgiving and romancing terrorism,” Adeyanju wrote. He called for an end to policies that could allow for the reintegration of terrorists.

This statement follows comments from Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, who assured the public that ongoing military operations are inflicting significant losses on terrorists and bandits. Musa spoke to reporters after a security briefing with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he addressed what he termed “misleading interpretations” regarding the current security situation circulating in the media.
