President Assures Media Leaders on Tariff Review

ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed concerns from media leaders regarding tariffs affecting the industry during an interfaith iftar held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

In his remarks, Tinubu emphasized his attention to the discussions surrounding these tariffs. “I’ve listened carefully to you. It’s as if you’ve worked with me today. The question of tariff was discussed this afternoon,” he stated.

While acknowledging the concerns, the president indicated uncertainty about immediate action taken on the issue. “What I cannot report back here is whether I took action in the area that affected you or not, but if I miss that, I’ll go back to rectify it,” he said.

Tinubu also commended media organizations for their essential role in national development, highlighting their contributions to job creation and public education. “The joy is that many of you have employed people to live a life and inform people to get information, educate, and strengthen our minds,” he noted.
