Nigerian Army Commander Calls for Vigilance During Operational Visit
Ohafia, Nigeria—Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, Commander of the 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, urged officers and soldiers of the 144 Battalion Headquarters (Rear) to maintain vigilance, discipline, and operational readiness amid ongoing efforts in Operation Eastern Sanity.
During his initial operational visit to the battalion, Dikko emphasized the importance of security in the South-East region. He commended the personnel for their commitment to maintaining stability within their area of responsibility and encouraged them to continue their professional efforts in countering criminal activities.
In a meeting with members of the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association (NASWA), Brig. Gen. Dikko expressed gratitude for their support and resilience in safeguarding the home front.
The visit also included an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Military Reception Station (MRS) within the barracks. Dikko assessed the project’s progress, which aims to enhance educational facilities for the children of military personnel.
Major I.S. Mekwunye, the Commander Officer (Rear), briefed Brig. Gen. Dikko on the battalion’s operational activities and the current security landscape within the unit’s area of operations.
