Bandits kill one, abduct seven in fresh Kaduna attack
Bandits Attack Kaduna Community, One Dead and Seven Abducted
SABON GYERO, Kaduna State — A group of armed bandits targeted Sabon Gyero in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, early Monday morning, resulting in one fatality and the abduction of seven individuals.
According to local sources, the assailants invaded the community in significant numbers and specifically entered a residence where they kidnapped three women and four children. In a separate incident, the bandits attacked a nearby phone-charging center, where they shot and killed a young man identified as Abdullahi Lawal, known locally as “Kurma.”
Lawal, who was deaf-mute, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries before reaching the facility. Following Islamic traditions, he was buried in Sabon Gyero later that day.
Uwaisu Yunusa, commandant of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the area, informed reporters that the task force responded to the sounds of gunfire and attempted to pursue the attackers; however, they could not apprehend them.
As of this report, one of the kidnapped women has been released due to health complications.
