NGF condemns Maiduguri suicide bombings

Nigerian Governors Denounce Suicide Bombings in Maiduguri
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) condemned the multiple suicide bombings in Maiduguri on Monday night, calling the attacks both shocking and despicable.
In a statement released Tuesday by NGF Chairman Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq, the forum characterized the violence as an “evil” act that represents a “reckless waste of human lives.”
The governors have urged security agencies to take decisive action to diminish the capabilities of terrorist groups responsible for such attacks.
“Our condolences and sympathies are with the people and government of Borno State during this tragic time,” the statement read. “We stand in firm solidarity with them and will continue collaborating with the Federal Government to eradicate terrorism throughout the nation.”
The forum specifically decried the “cowardly attacks” on civilians and government facilities and reaffirmed its support for security forces engaged in efforts to combat this ongoing threat.
