Aisha Buhari visits Atiku amid 2027 political activities


Former First Lady Aisha Buhari visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Abuja. The meeting took place on Wednesday, as disclosed by Atiku through his social media accounts.

Atiku described the visit as “warm and deeply appreciated,” although neither he nor Aisha elaborated on the specific purpose of their discussion. The visit occurs amid heightened political activity leading up to the 2027 general elections.

Reflecting on the encounter, Atiku emphasized the significant responsibilities faced by those seeking to lead Nigeria, particularly the imperative to prioritize the welfare and dignity of its citizens.

“I was delighted to receive former First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Her visit was warm and deeply appreciated,” Atiku stated.

During the meeting, Atiku highlighted the economic challenges currently confronting Nigerian households, pointing to the increasing costs of food, transportation, education, and healthcare. He underscored the need for a robust economy that rewards hard work and generates opportunities for citizens.

“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity, and allows every family to live with dignity and hope,” he remarked.

Atiku also reiterated his commitment to alleviating financial pressures on families, expressing his ambition to “Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”

Aisha Buhari was accompanied by one of her daughters and a group of associates during her visit.
