Alleged stolen N34 trillion: Dino Melaye demands reasons for Edun’s sack

Dino Melaye Calls for Clarity on Ministerial Reshuffle
Dino Melaye, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has urged President Bola Tinubu to explain the recent dismissal of Wale Edun from his position as Minister of Finance.
President Tinubu removed Edun from office on Tuesday, appointing Taiwo Oyedele as his successor. However, the presidency has not provided any reasons for this abrupt change.
In response to the announcement, Melaye took to his official Facebook page to raise questions regarding the motivations behind Edun’s removal. He suggested that the dismissal might be linked to alleged financial discrepancies, including reports of $24 billion (approximately 34 trillion naira) purportedly misappropriated from national revenue.
Melaye emphasized the importance of transparency in government actions. “In civilized countries, when ministers are dismissed, the government must explain the reasons for their removal,” he stated.
