Amotekun Corps Rescues Eight Kidnapped Victims in Ondo State
Operatives of the Amotekun Corps successfully rescued eight individuals who had been kidnapped in Ondo State during a recent operation against their captors.
Akogun Adeleye, the Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, stated that the victims were released without the payment of any ransom. The abductions reportedly occurred in the Ilado community, located in the Akure North Local Government Area.
Among the rescued individuals was Fagbonmire Durojaiye, a pastor and educator affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of 30 million Naira for the release of the victims. According to Commander Adeleye, the rescue operation involved an exchange of gunfire between Amotekun operatives and the kidnappers prior to securing the victims’ freedom.
