APC Chieftain faults campaign council composition, suggests list was patronising

Cletus Obon, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly criticized the party’s presidential campaign council, labeling its formation as flawed and overly reliant on patronage.

In an interview with Arise Television, Obon expressed concerns about the strategic decisions behind the assembly of the campaign team, suggesting that significant errors are apparent in the list of council members. He remarked that many individuals selected for the council do not possess the necessary qualifications or relevance to support the campaign’s objectives.

“As an APC member, I can say we may not have made our best choices in the general composition of the campaign list. We may be reserving our best for the worst; there are strategic errors in the list. Most members of the campaign council have no business being there; some of them were put there as an act of patronage,” Obon stated.

The APC has not yet issued a response to these criticisms. However, Obon’s remarks have reignited discussions regarding the strategic direction and composition of the party’s campaign efforts.
