APC set to lose Political heavyweight as Haske takes formidable structure to APM

Abdulrahman Haske Set to Defect from APC to APM Ahead of 2027 Elections
Adamawa State’s political landscape may face significant changes as Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, a prominent businessman and gubernatorial aspirant, is preparing to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in anticipation of the 2027 elections.
Alhaji Hussaini Ahmadu Har, a close political associate of Haske, confirmed that plans are in motion to transition Haske’s political structure from the APC to the APM. Har characterized the expected defection as a “political tsunami” that could reshape the political scene in Adamawa. He also noted that several of Haske’s loyalists have already made the switch to the APM.
In a social media post on his verified Facebook page, Har shared an image of Haske alongside the APM logo, encouraging others to join the movement. “The movement is a fight to the finish. Do not be left out of the train of victory. Come back to reality and join the movement,” Har wrote.
His post further stated, “Abdulrahman Haske is coming in 2027, and by God’s grace, he will win.”
Haske was considered a leading contender for the APC’s gubernatorial nomination, with supporters confident in his ability to secure the party’s ticket through a fair primary process. However, those close to him allege that internal party dynamics have marginalized his candidacy.
Should Haske proceed with his defection, it would represent a considerable setback for the APC, given his popularity and established grassroots network throughout the state.
Currently, Haske is reported to be outside Adamawa, but momentum surrounding his expected move to the APM is building. Sources indicate that this potential shift could prompt additional defections from the APC, as well as from other parties such as the African Democratic Congress and the Labour Party.
Supporters of Haske claim that he has been sidelined within the APC by influential figures who are wary of his rising political profile and ambitions.
More information is anticipated as discussions continue concerning Haske’s political future.
