Bamanga Tukur to be buried in Adamawa Sunday
Bamanga Tukur, an elder statesman and former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, passed away on Saturday in Abuja. He was 90 years old and was just three days shy of his 91st birthday.
According to a statement from Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Tukur will be buried in his home state of Adamawa on Sunday, September 13. The funeral arrangements were coordinated by Tukur’s family.
Wonosikou noted that Tukur’s body is scheduled to be flown to Yola on Saturday evening. Following the arrival, a funeral prayer is set to take place at the Lamido Adamawa’s Palace in Yola, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Tukur is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Awwal Tukur, who serves as the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government.
