Bauchi Police Arrest Man in Solar Panel Theft

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a 26-year-old man, Emmanuel Jacob, in connection with the theft of seven solar panels owned by the Federal Government Girls’ College in Bauchi.

According to police, four of the stolen panels have been recovered from Jacob, and efforts are underway to locate the remaining three panels, as well as to identify others involved in the theft.

Police spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib released a statement detailing the investigation, which was initiated by operatives of ‘A’ Division, Township, Bauchi. This action aligns with the command’s ongoing Safe School Initiative aimed at addressing property-related crimes near educational institutions.

“Accordingly, one Emmanuel Jacob, a 26-year-old male of Federal Government Girls’ College, Bauchi, was arrested in connection with the theft of seven solar panels belonging to the school,” the statement noted.

Habib also confirmed that investigations are continuing to recover the remaining panels and to apprehend individuals who may have received the stolen items.

Jacob remains in police custody and is expected to face charges in court once the investigation concludes.
