House Committee Confirms Appointment Letter of PFIPC Director-General is Fake
The ad hoc committee of the House of Representatives investigating the alleged operation of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has declared that the appointment letter received by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General, is fraudulent.
Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi made the announcement during a hearing in Abuja on Wednesday. He noted that Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, confirmed the documents presented by Adeyemi were not genuine.
“It was established that the so-called letter of appointment was fake, verified by various agencies. The Act submitted to the Head of Service was also forged by the Director-General,” Gagdi stated.
Walson-Jack appeared before the committee for the second time to provide final statements in compliance with a prior summons.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Olufemi Akinola and Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi also attended the session, representing the Inspector-General of Police.
As of this report, Adeyemi had not yet appeared before the committee. The committee had previously labeled the establishment and operation of the PFIPC as a severe violation, directing the Inspector-General of Police to locate and present Adeyemi within 48 hours.
