Charlie Kirk statue vandalised outside Turning Point USA headquarters | Politics News

Vandalism Incidents Target Statue of Slain Activist Charlie Kirk

A statue of Charlie Kirk, a right-wing activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was vandalized just days after its unveiling outside the organization’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The bronze statue, which commemorates the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s death, was defaced with red spray paint on Sunday.

Tyler Bowyer, chief operating officer of Turning Point USA, reported the incident, detailing that the vandalism included red paint splattered across the statue’s neck and efforts to obscure Kirk’s face and religious imagery. Bowyer expressed his concerns in a post on social media platform X, highlighting the targeted nature of the vandalism.

Kirk, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, was fatally shot while addressing students at Utah Valley University. The individual charged with his murder, Tyler Robinson, has pleaded not guilty and faces the possibility of a death sentence.

According to Phoenix police, they received multiple reports on Sunday morning regarding the vandalism at Turning Point’s headquarters. The organization noted that the attack on the statue was particularly significant, as the neck area is where Kirk sustained his fatal injury. This incident was captured on video during the attack.

Turning Point USA stated their intentions to restore the statue and replace the damaged signage while also collaborating with law enforcement to investigate the vandalism and identify the responsible parties.
